Cynthia Steffe Spring '10 Review

  • preppy styles with relaxed, sheer fabrics
  • floral prints on dresses, pants and rompers
  • gun metal metallic jackets
  • whites dresses and khaki shorts and jackets
  • cocktail dresses in white and metallic silver
Verdict: Plain, unoriginal and overly preppy. Florals for spring? How boring.
One or two cocktail dresses looked nice... but other than that? no, no, no, NO.

Jason Wu '10 Spring Runway Review

  • 40's vibe with feminine a-line dresses and skirts cinched at waists with belts
  • both bright and black and white tweed on suits and dresses
  • ruffles, patterns, colour blocking (texture, texture, TEXTURE) but it's not overkill!
  • colour blocking platforms
  • ladylike silk tops with patterns which remind me of Japanese cherry blossoms
  • colourful knit sweaters with silk print skirts
  • gorgeous voluminous cocktail dresses
Verdict: I love it! The collection is beautiful, wearable and extremely feminine. Parts of the collection could be used to dress women in pretty much any age range. The cocktail dresses are to die for and I already know that stylists will be picking some out for their clients to wear on the red carpet.

Charlotte Ronson Spring '10 Runway Review

  • gathers all the trends of fall '09 and makes them wearable during spring by adding sheer, white fabrics (black leather shorts with white sheer tops, acid wash denim shorts and bathing suits, black lace, etc.)
  • mix of rock n' roll, military and ballet dancer
  • white high waisted leather shorts
  • white suits made feminine with white or black knotted leather belts at the waist
Verdict: I was pleasantly surprise by this collection. I could actually imagine myself wearing many of the outfits. The only issue was that they were too young and trendy. Although the collection is pretty, it doesn't transcend time. I also can't imagine people older than their mid 30's reaching for these pieces. But... I did love how women could save money by mixing trends from their fall wardrobes with the transition of spring.

Davidelfin Spring '10 Runway Review

  • a trichromatic palette consisting of green, teal and deep blue
  • androgynous, one shoulder suits for women
  • draping and minimalism using bright colours
  • simplicity with power
  • form fitting styles for women
Verdict: Original, creative and interesting. I wouldn't mind wearing a green suit myself but the entire thing reminded me too much of St. Patrick's day.

BCBG Max Azria Spring '10 Runway Show Review

  • colorful paint stroke prints against black fabric
  • modern with a hint of 80's
  • trendy, bright form fitting dresses
  • flux, relaxed materials with draped, geometrical styles on brights
  • LBD's made cool through draping with see-through peekaboo fabrics near cleavages for a hint of sexy
Verdict: Highly wearable for the fashionable 20 to 30-somethings but, once again, nothing absolutely outstanding.

Ports 1961 Spring/Summer '10 Runway Review

  • minimalism with a ladylike touch
  • sheer, white fabrics in forms of tunics both with sleeves and without
  • pops of bright colors (orange, salmon pink) worked in contrast with the sheer, white theme in terms of material
  • dresses became more intriguing with the use of draping, origami and asymmetrical
  • tie-dye becomes grown up through its use on pants, belts, dresses in blue and yellow while being paired with a grey architectural sweater top
Verdict: In simplest terms, it's a good collection but not an outstanding one. Although the shapes of the garments are interesting, I've seen almost the exact same ideas before in previous seasons.

Alas, summer has ended and school begins. Today was my first day of school and this was my outfit. I was surprised everyone just wore a pair of short shorts and a plain t-shirt! Don't people freak out about what you wear on the first day... or is that just me? Who knows.

Anyway...I got everything from, you guessed it, Urban Outfitters. So here it is.
I didn't dress up too much. When I'm going to school, I don't like to accessorize too much because everything just seems to get in the way because my jewelry tends to be a little on the dramatic side. So I went for clean and simple, a little sexy (with the see-through top and zipped up skirt) and with a pop of colour. And keep in mind that the colors look different on the picture. The top is more of a coral and the skirt is lighter wash of denim.

Top- A BCBG Maxazria (dress!)
