Recently, I've heard of an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi saying that crocs were not permitted during Yom Kippur... which got me to thinking, "What fashions do I absolutely hate?". It's a tricky question because I believe that all styles and colours can look great if they're done right. Muiccia Prada finds her inspiration from things she doesn't like (such as lace and the colour teal) and makes them into masterpieces. Although I think any awful trend can be done well through some creativity, here are some ones which I still need further convincing with.

Fashions/Hairstyles/Dressing Habits/Etc. I despise (which you may like! I'm not telling you to not wear them):
  • Crocs. I was thinking of ways to make it fashionable and a croc stiletto appeared in my mind. I shuddered.
  • Cowboy boots.
  • Light wash, skinny jeans. (Nobody other than a toothpick looks good in them!)
  • Uggs. (Maybe the slippers or moccasins indoors, but not when you're going out please! So unoriginal.)
  • People wearing clothing they would never wear just because everyone else is.
  • Long, claw-like, ghetto nails. UGH!
  • Over accessorizing. (Hat, 20+ bangles on your arms, sunglasses the size of watermelons, chandelier earrings, a waist belt, a huge handbag and a dozen necklaces all at once. Trust me, I've seen it before.)
  • Mullets. No explanation needed.
  • Wearing skinny jeans when you're not skinny. It may sound mean, but in my opinion everyone should wear clothing that flatters their own bodies.

Hello my dears!

Fall has always been my favorite season and this one definitely does not disappoint. There are so many new trends and revivals, that I feel I should list them all out for you guys. Enjoy! And also note that trends are just indications of our times and do not necessarily have to be followed. Be yourself and wear whatever you like. Fashion is all about expression!

1. 80's Revival.
  • Bright neons (I'll be donning some hot pink tights!)
  • Bold shoulders. Yes, I know, the dreaded shoulder pads. Keep in mind though that this season, jackets (notably those from Balmain) have been chic and nothing like the ones you or your mother might have worn.
  • Cocoon Coats (80's is all about VOLUME.. be careful to balance your outfit with a voluminous top and sleek bottom, so you don't look like a walking marshmallow)
2. Goth (Reminder: Do not wear while grocery shopping)
  • Black leather. Shorts from Alexander Mcqueen anyone?
  • Leather jacket$.
  • Head to toe black.
  • Studs (Looks great on denim shorts!)
  • Silver chains. Necklaces, shoes, bracelets, everywhere! All at the same time for the daring.
3. Anti-PETA. Well at least that's what the runways have been all about.
  • Fur. Vests, gilets, coats, bags. Faux fur is so much better!
4. Metallics & Sequins

5. Yellows and Golds (Mix 2 together: Gold sequins? Black sequins?)

6. Thigh High Boots
  • Byebye ankle boots! Hello Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre 120 thigh-highs! Quite a mouthful isn't it?
7. Jeggings (Jean leggings)
  • Look for a darker wash!
8. Distressed Jeans
  • Not just ripped at the knee anymore, they've been bleached and ripped in millions of places. I'm thinking of just buying a nice pair of jeans and doing a little DIY project at home. Hopefully it won't turn into a complete disaster!
9. Hats

10. Shoulder Cutouts

And that's about it! I'm off to bed now. Gotta get up for work tomorrow! Bye guys!
