Ports 1961 Spring/Summer '10 Runway Review

  • minimalism with a ladylike touch
  • sheer, white fabrics in forms of tunics both with sleeves and without
  • pops of bright colors (orange, salmon pink) worked in contrast with the sheer, white theme in terms of material
  • dresses became more intriguing with the use of draping, origami and asymmetrical
  • tie-dye becomes grown up through its use on pants, belts, dresses in blue and yellow while being paired with a grey architectural sweater top
Verdict: In simplest terms, it's a good collection but not an outstanding one. Although the shapes of the garments are interesting, I've seen almost the exact same ideas before in previous seasons.
